How do I book my portrait session or wedding?
Great question. For portrait sessions, I only require a $100 creative session fee to reserve your session date. Full payment is not due until 24 hours prior to the session. I always try to chat with my clients and have you complete a questionnaire before your session date. Since most likely, we've never met before because my clients are often visiting from out of town. The questionnaire helps me get to know your family and get to know the personalities of any children being photographed. For weddings, I like to do a pre-consultation via over the phone or coffee, to make sure we are the right fit for each-other and go over your wedding plans and details. Once the initial consultation is completed, I only require a $200 retainer fee to book your wedding. The remaining balance is due 1 week before your wedding date. With both portrait sessions and weddings, I send out a contract, invoice and questionnaire.
How do I receive my photos?
Once your photos are complete. I will send you a link to your private online gallery. Where you can access your high resolution digital downloads. High quality prints are also available through your online gallery. USB's are also available depending on your package.
How long will it take to receive my photos?
I work very hard to get your photos done as quickly as possible. I value the quality of you images to be edited to my high standards. So, for portrait sessions, it can take up to 2 weeks. For weddings and elopements, it can take 8-10 weeks.
Is a print release included in my package?
Yes, all of my portrait and wedding packages come with a print release. Which means you have full printing rights to all of your digital downloads and may print them where ever you like. Meaning, you do not have to order prints through me.
Can I receive the RAW files?
My photography is my artwork. Without the post processing methods that I apply to my photos, it is unfinished artwork and does not reflect my work as an artist. For this reason, I only release the finished, professionally edited, high-resolution photos to my clients and nothing less.
Who selects which photos will be edited?
Great question. I do. I carefully go through each photo taken (for both weddings and portrait sessions) and select the best of the bunch to edit and deliver in you online gallery.
How many photos do you usually take?
On average, I typically shoot about 50-100 photos per hour. You will receive around that amount. (for both weddings and portrait sessions)
How long have you been a photographer?
I have been shooting professionally for about 5 years. But, I grew up with photography all around me. My mother was a wedding and landscape photographer and I grew up with a dark room in my home. I started out with film photography and developing my own prints for years. After high school, in 2006, I went to Harrington College of Design in Chicago, IL for Digital Photography and learned from the best professional digital and film photographers and professors in the field. I also learned all of my Photoshop and editing techniques in college as well. Between college and 3 years ago, I took a step back with professional photography to start a family.
What should I wear to my photo session?
Once you've booked your session with me, I will be excited to help style your session. I always try to provide the best color pallets that will work well together. The colors that seem to look best with my editing style include soft pastels, soft neutrals (ex: light grey, beige, pale blues) and warm earthy colors (ex: olives, forest green, mustard yellow, burnt orange). Black and white is always a classic and will always look good, along with any kind of denim. I also recommend summer hats and accessories to add depth to your photos. I don't recommend any graphic tees or baseball caps as this clothing can be distracting in your photos.
Do you photograph outside of the Florida Keys?
Yes, absolutely! I go to Indiana and Illinois annually every summer to visit family. I continue to do sessions in the Chicago-land region. If you have another location in mind, please reach out! I love to travel.
